Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup

GreenGulf drafted two key chapters in the Qatar 2022 bid book pertaining to "Sustainability" and "CSR” and advised on the design, construction and operation of a solar cooled showcase stadium.

GreenGulf is one of the three organizations on the Environmental Advisory Board appointed to oversee the overall strategy for the bid (alongside Qatar Petroleum and the Ministry of Environment).

 

Doha 2020 Olympic Games

GreenGulf developed the Environmental Vision, addressing issues around sustainability and Olympic legacy, to help position the bid competitvely during the Candidate phase.

 

UNFCCC COP18 and CMP8 

GreenGulf was commissioned by the COP18 ORganizing Committee to estimate the GHG emissions associated with hosting the event. GreenGulf's goal was to work closely with the organizing committee in evaluating all the activities and operational and logistical decisions made during the preparations with the goal of minimizing carbon footprint and proposing options for offsetting to help COP18/CMP8 in Doha achieve climate neutrality.

 

Jordan Solar Training Initiative

GreenGulf, iPlatform and the Norwegian Refugee Council are in the process of creating a training program to impart skills in the operations and maintenance of solar systems to refugees in Jordan's Zaatari Camp. This program aims to give the settlers a chance to acquire skills that can be used to improve their own surroundings as well as provide them with recognized credentials.
