Renewable Energy, Topic at Green Building Council Event


DOHA, Qatar, 14th February 2011, The Peninsula — Renewable energy and sustainable energy systems will be the focus of a seminar hosted by Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), as part of their series of knowledge events

The seminar entitled 'Energy and Power: Quality Green Solutions' to be held at the QGBC Headquarters on February 15, 2011 is pertinent, addressing topics which are gaining significance in Qatar, especially with the expected boom in construction in the lead up to 2022, say organizers. The seminar will set the stage for a lively exchange of views and analysis of environment friendly building practices.

The panel includes three distinguished speakers; Omran Al Kuwari, CEO of Green Gulf, who will present, 'Solar Energy, Expectations for Qatar 2022', an analysis of renewable energy and the role it can play in the construction boom expected in the run up to 2022.

Dr. Wael Mamluk, Senior Engineer at Kahramaa will present the topic of 'Harmonics, Modeling & Simulation, Energy Saving, Test Systems and Electric Networks' providing an informative insight of power quality and green energy management systems and Tamer Qazi, Project Manager at Schneider Electric, who will present 'Energy Management, Sustainable Buildings Design and Operations' outlining practical solutions of how these new green building practices should be applied in the construction sector.

The sessions, which will be chaired by Co-Head of the QGBC Research and Innovation Committee, Abdulla Al Misnad, will be a forum for the audience to participate by raising issues and expressing their opinions.
